School RulesWe are pretty easy going in here, but there are a few things that you might want to keep in mind.

2. Please don't Spam, I really hate that.

7. Profanity is allowed, just use it with reason, kay?

Japanese High Schools. The Following is a brief explanation on how Japanese High Schools work.
Japanese High School are separated into three semesters, usually a 6-day week with two big school breaks (Summer and Winter). Students are placed into a Homeroom (1-A, 1-B, 1-C, and so on) and stay there most of the day. Teachers who teach the general subjects of Japanese, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science travel from Homeroom to Homeroom.
After the 1st-year, Students have more of a role in deciding what classes they'll be taking. Because of this, during 2nd year, homerooms are rearranged so that students with similar interest are in the same class. More elective like classes are taken here as well. 3rd year the process is the same.
Most students usually participate in club activities, which usually are student run classes on subjects they are interested in. This can be a variety of things, from student government to sports to drama. Also each student is held responsible for the school. This is to encourage teamwork and school pride. As a result, after main classes are finished, students clean assigned areas themselves.
School regulations aren't just school uniforms and hair-cuts. It also expands to curfews, employment and leisure activities. The school is often responsible if a student acts up in public (as the school uniform is a dead give-a-way). The "honor" of a school is important, and violations are frown upon by not only the staff of a school, but the students as well.
There are minorities in Japanese schools, but most of these are from other asian countries such as China and Korea. Schools also have special needs classes for the disabled.
Japanese Honorifics:In Japan, not using the correct polite Honorifics is often very rude. For instance, calling someone you just met by their actual name is insulting. Also calling someone the wrong honorific is very insulting. So for those confused on what is the correct honorific to use in certain situations, here is a shorts list.
-san: equivalent to Mr., Miss, Mrs.
-sama: "-san" but with more respect
-kun: familaritary or endearment for boys
-chan: familaritary or endearment towards girls and romantic interests
Senpai/Sempei: Upperclassman. Sempai is a softer version of Senpai
Kohai: Underclassman
Sensei: Teacher, Professor, Doctor
Nee-chan: Older sister This does not necessary mean blood related. This can refer to an older girl you are close too and respect.
Nii-chan: Older brother. This does not necessary mean blood related. This can refer to an older boy you are close too and respect.
